Position Description
The major responsibility of this position is to efficiently and effectively provide respiratory services to patients. The Respiratory Therapist will make positive contact with patients on the telephone and while visiting the store so that they are provided with the services they need.

Major Responsibilities
- Patient Service and Products
- Set up for oxygen, nebulizers, CPAP, and ventilators new patients.
- Follow up with routine needs of supplies and service of oxygen, nebulizers, CPAP, and ventilators for current patients.
- Provide patients and caregivers with education by speaking with them in their homes or at the office.
- Actively participate in continuing education provided by Kohll's Pharmacy and Homecare and also externally.
- Deliver oxygen tanks.
- Clean and test equipment when necessary.
- Expectations of Kohll’s and CHAP
The duties of the Respiratory Therapist will include the following:
- Assessment of patients’ condition, their level of function, and the appropriateness of equipment provided
- Assessment of home environments including safety, storage facilities, cleanliness, and the ability to support the equipment
- Participation with the physician in development of service plans
- Consultation and training of patients and caregivers regarding use of respiratory equipment, supplies, and techniques
- Identification of patients’ additional service and product needs
- Coordination of services
- Technical assistance with equipment
- Monitoring of continued effectiveness, safety, and appropriateness of equipment
- Plan for discharge
- Preparation of clinical and progress notes
- Understandings and Skills
- Use Kohll’s computer management system to enter new patients, list and access physicians
and insurance carriers, access product codes, schedule delivery and pick-up, determine assigned and non-assigned insurance, and enter the correct modifiers.
- Stay current with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and use the manuals when necessary.
- Assist in chart audits.
- Properly file respiratory documents and records.
- Participate in internal and external sales, referrals, and marketing strategies.

- Perform all other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate of Arts degree with Registered Respiratory Therapy certification is required. At least two years of hospital and or homecare experience is preferred with good management skills. A combination of education and related experience are used to meet minimum qualifications. In addition, the employee must comply with regular and continuing education and training provided and scheduled by Kohll’s.
